*nosebleed* |
Fanservice and comedy were what made up this episode. It was quite nice to see that Miki actually did something instead of sleeping and eating; her fanservice shot when she accidentally stumbled into the Producer and Hamuzou's bath was epic win. While watching this episode, it reminded me of the summer heat that I am experiencing now. Makes me want to go to the beach too. Anyways, the next episode preview looks like it's going to have to do something with Ritsuko's Ryuuguu Komachi and possibly more Miki! Looking forward to it.
There may be some of you out there who don't know what an "Obligatory Beach Episode" is so I thought I'd enlighten you. If you want a detailed explanation, please click here. Otherwise, read the short block of text below.
The beach episode is very common in anime that feature many female or male characters, depending on the demographic. It is usually used as a filler and includes a healthy dose of fanservice. It is becoming increasingly popular nowadays, hence the "obligatory" part of the phrase. It is usually welcomed by viewers and, in some cases, is used to boost a show's ratings if they are currently lower than expected. The line "It's the ocean/sea/beach" is almost always screamed out by a female character upon the appearance of the beach. Once at the beach, characters are most likely going to be engaged in beach activities (swimming, playing in the sand, tanning etc.) or special events (beauty contest, eating contest, sports tournaments etc.).
And that ends my condensed explanation on the beach episode.
