Kokoro Connect - Episode 7
By now, I think it's quite obvious that Heartseed is a sadist. It seems his idea of "interesting" isn't just to see what kind of amusing situations he can create using his manipulative powers, but to see how the five manage to ruin their relationship with one another. Even in Hito Random, he had moments of success when Himeko, and Yui to a lesser extent, revealed their distrust of the others. This time around the same two are being victimized once again. Ironically, they're arguably the two strongest—mentally and physically, respectively—members of the group, and yet, are the ones looking the weakest right about now. The result of the clash between Himeko and Yui is clearly just the beginning of an inevitable falling apart (though it should just be a temporary phase) of the Cultural Research Club.
With things already bad enough after that incident, it was quite disheartening to see Taichi berate Himeko at the end. Yes, I know he didn't actually intend to do so, and that it was just his desire being unleashed, but given how guilty she must have felt regarding her own words towards Yui, being told off like that definitely didn't help her weakening emotional state. And while Himeko puts forth a strong front, it's easy as a viewer to see that she's actually very fragile emotionally. Added to this are probably her still-lingering feelings for Taichi, making his criticism all the more painful for her to bear.
Unfortunately, things look to get even worse in the next episode. With the two strongest members already emotionally unstable, joining them will probably be Taichi and Aoki. Judging by the preview, the two appear to be at ends with each other regarding Yui's situation. And with Iori stuck in the middle, who knows if she'll become a victim due to the difficulty of trying to keep the group from falling apart even further? At the end of all this, Heartseed better be satisfied.
