Inu x Boku SS - Episode 11

Adorable, as always.

Things are now starting to get interesting. When one first sees Sōshi, it's almost be impossible to guess just how dark his past was. That calm and reassuring smile, along with his polite and devoted personality, may make him seem like the kindest person in the world. But under all that lay deception and ulterior motives. However, it's hard to blame Sōshi for his actions. Having been neglected because of his powers, it just goes to show how important parental guidance is, especially for a growing child. Because they were not there to nurture and teach him, Sōshi ended up living an unfortunate, and arguably disgusting, childhood full of lies and loneliness.

If one was not convinced about the Sōshi x Ririchiyo pairing prior to this episode, Episode 11 will almost certainly make them chance their mind. In a sense, they rescued each other from their respective weaknesses - Sōshi's emotionless life and Ririchiyo's unwanted loneliness - and helped each other get back up on their feet. Even before they first talked to each other, the chemistry between the two was surprisingly good. I was really touched by the scene where Sōshi noted that Ririchiyo had replied to the one letter in which he wrote about himself with, "For the first time, I feel like we've grown closer/For the first time, I feel like I saw your true self." I felt these words are what started the transformation in Sōshi's personality; he started to feel emotions and learned to understand things in a different way than in the past, all because of one little girl. All this fully explains Sōshi's loyalty towards Ririchiyo - his saviour.

While Kagerō's plan to expose Sōshi in order to get a reaction out of Ririchiyo didn't go as planned (Ririchiyo already knew that it wasn't Kagerō who wrote the letters), it did serve as a catalyst for the development of Sōshi and Ririchiyo's lovely relationship. The best part of the episode was definitely when Kagerō revealed to Ririchiyo that it was actually Sōshi who had been writing the letters all along, before sending her up the elevator alone to be reunited with her Secret Service agent. The embrace at the end was heartwarming to see. Now that the two know the truth, the best part is just around the corner. Can't wait for next week!
