THE iDOLM@STER - Episode 25

I want more THE iDOLM@STER!

Episode Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)

I seriously can't believe it's over. For the past six months, every week felt complete because of THE iDOLM@STER. Knowing that 25 episodes have gone by so fast saddens me. But right now is not the time to wallow in nostalgia. Instead, it's time to rejoice in the wonderful ending of TV series adaption of THE iDOLM@STER!

With all the drama behind them, 765 Productions puts on another spectacular performance for their fans. After watching this episode, I realized that the drama was necessary in order to contrast with and amplify the positivity of this episode. The sadness, strain and stress that were on the faces of almost all the idols in the past two episodes have now disappeared and instead been replaced by smiles of joy. The idols have gone a long way from when they first started out and it's heartwarming to see that, despite that each of them are walking on their own paths, they still keep each other in mind. In a sense, this concert was made possible by Haruka. Without her, there's a possibility that none of the others idols would've noticed how important their bond and friendship is.

The concert itself was really great. Although I prefer the one in Episode 13 more (mostly because Miki had the spotlight), the one in this episode also had its fair share of defining moments. For example, the strong sense of unity that could be seen as the idols were performing made the atmosphere in the concert hall so much livelier. After all, as Haruka would put it, "working together and having fun with everyone" is when one can truly feel that they are an idol. I believe in terms of overall success, this concert surpasses the previous one by far.

And for those out there who are looking for a second season like me, there's still hope as there were a few signs hinting something. Firstly, Kuroi scamming 765 Production of their office gives a message of "starting over again" which slightly implies a "new beginning" (i.e. a new season?). Secondly, seeing 876 Production talking to the reporter, Yoshizawa, hints that a friendly rivalry may be in the works between 765 and 876. Finally, with Jupiter looking like they are finding success and enjoying it, I won't be surprised if they suddenly come back into the picture. With this in mind, coupled with some optimistic thinking, a second season is very possible.
