Ikoku Meiro no Croisée - Episode 6

'o _ o          > u <

Episode Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)

The series really bounced back after a lackluster Episode 5. It included a good amount of moe, comedy and drama, with the mysterious relationship between Claude and Camille being extremely interesting. I hope the story between the two will be expanded in future episodes but, as of now, I am totally approving of a Claude x Camille ending. Sorry, Yune. As for Alice, she once again shows how awesome of a character she is - with everything from her devilish thoughts to her reaction to Yune. As for the next episode, the drama seems to return as Yune gets sick. With the possibility of Yune having limited screentime, who will fill in for her?

It's another bright day in France, the birds are chirping (well, actually, one bird assists a man in his act as a statue), people are mingling and Yune is doing the usual, cleaning around the Enseignes du Roy. Meanwhile, Alice makes her return to the Galerie and her arrival is noticed by close to all the people on the streets. Back at the Enseignes du Roy, Claude assists Yune in her task since she was having trouble with reaching the high places. Soon after giving over the washcloth to Claude, Yune spots Alice walking into the store. When the two go downstairs to meet the ojou-sama, hilarity ensues as Claude and Alice verbally try to anger the other, with Yune being clueless about the whole thing. It turns out Alice is here in order to request a photo with Yune. Wanting to please the two of them, Yune decides to go with Alice only after she finishes all her chores in the Enseignes du Roy.

Once Yune finishes her chores, she and Alice go back to the Blanche mansion where Alice decides to show Yune her photo album. Upon seeing the carte de visites, Yune looks interested in them since she hasn't seen them before. Then, Alice shows her more of them, this time, focusing on the ones featuring her sister instead. In one of the pictures of Camille, it shows her, as a child, wearing a crinoline. Alice then shows Yune what a crinoline is. Meanwhile, Claude continues to work in order to hide his feelings of concern for Yune, albeit in a tsundere fashion. However, Oscar is able to see right through his grandson's actions. Back at the Blance mansion, once the two girls are done with photos, Alice moves on to clothing, wanting Yune to try on everything in her collection. First up, is a kimono, something Yune is familiar with. While the maids attempt to help Yune change into it, obviously disregarding her feelings, Camille walks in and orders them to let Yune wear it herself, and in the process allowing Alice to see how to properly wear a kimono. And, yet, even after seeing the correct way, Alice still chooses to wear it her way. But with just one push from Camille, Alice agrees to learn how to wear it correctly. It seems to me that Alice will listen to anything her older sister says, no matter if she agrees with it or not. While Yune helps Alice with her kimono, she can't help but notice Camille's mysterious but sad eyes looking on at the two, seemingly hiding a depressing past. A bit more on that later. With Alice now in a kimono, she suddenly gets the idea of forcing Yune to wear one of her dresses, officially completing the wardrobe switch. The two of them are still maintain their moe level even after this happens. Unfortunately, Yune has a tougher time with her new outfit since she is not used to the crinoline yet. Because of this, she nearly creates a mess in the room but, thanks to the skilled maids, no damage is caused.

With preparations now complete, the two girls then get ready for a photograph. While they frantically try to figure out what to do, Camille calmly guides them, her voice so soft that it's almost soothing. Seeing this causes Alice to, once again, think of how amazing her onee-sama is. As for the photograph taking, the first two attempts end in failure as Yune sneezes and Alice gets distracted by a fly. Even though a cat distracted the two of them on the third try, they still managed to keep their smile on long enough for the picture to be taken (it takes five seconds, apparently). After the picture, Yune goes to chase the cat but the crinoline she is wearing restricts her from doing so. Seeing this, Camille, in a sad tone, notes that the birdcage (crinoline) can prevent one from getting what they want. This makes one wonder if the high-class world is restricting Camille from obtaining something she desires in life. Just then, Claude arrives at the outskirt of the Blance residence in time to see the cat run away and Yune following after it. Upon seeing him, Yune drags him into the residence, wanting him to meet Camille. But, looking at Claude's reaction when she mentions Camille, it seems that there is some connection between the two. My suspicions are then confirmed as Camille is seen looking down at Claude from one of the windows of the mansion, her face expressionless. On their way back home, after Yune mentions something that Camille said, all Claude tells her is to not go to teh Blanche residence so often. Because of this, I think it's safe to say that Claude and Camille know each other. The details of their relationship are for another time, a time that I hope comes soon. Post-ED scene shows the finished photo and how...um...bad it is as Camille being the only one who looked normal in the photo. As for the episode preview, Yune looks to get sick. Get well soon, Yune!
