Epic face |
The obligatory beach episode is here; although only the few few minutes of it was actually at the beach. Good thing that Yuina got lots of screentime this episode since she barely appeared after she was introduced. On top of that, an aspect of her personal life is also revealed, making this the ultimate episode for her fans. Looks like the drama returns in the next episode, even while they are still on their school trip. It will be interesting to see if Yuina will be involved in the problems, given that she never showed her sadness and anger before.
All right, the first thing we see in this episode is swimsuit fanservice. First it’s a bunch of random girls followed by Ohana and Yuina. As expected the guys started ogling the beautiful granddaughter of Fukuya Inn’s landlady. A short struggle results in Minko showing off her swimsuit, which Ohana guessed was only supposed to be shown to Tohru. Flashback to the ride towards the inn they are staying at and Ohana is busy with getting ready her to-do list which involved many things relating to her job at Kissui Inn. Meanwhile, Yuina is singing while Minko is rolling her eyes when she hears one of the guys behind her telling his friend that he will ask her out again since he can’t get over her. The inn turns out to be Fukuyou (not Fukuya) and it is extremely big. On an unrelated note, both Fukuyou and Fukuya sound very vulgar if you think about it. Anyways, as the three girls and a group of guys are being guided to their rooms, they see the manager of the inn yelling at one of the employees for growing her nails too long and wearing too much makeup. Soon after, Yuina reveals that this guy, Hiwatari Yousuke, is her distant relative, the heir of this inn and her fiancé. While the first two don’t mean anything, the fact that she already has a fiancé at this age shocks the rest of the group. After this long flashback ends, Ohana wonders why she is less fortunate than Yuina even though both of them are granddaughters of a landlady. Suddenly, many of the students turn their eyes to the scene where Yuina just rejected a guy who I think deserves this since he probably knew Yuina already had a fiancé. Soon after that, another guy walks up to Minko and continues the confession trend. This turns out to be more unlucky than the guy who confessed to Yuina as he is rejected harshly by Minko who calls him a hobiron before storming off. Despite this, he runs after her and, even though it isn’t shown, she probably verbally beat him up. Now alone, Ohana subconsciously thinks about Kou, causing tears to slowly form around her eyes. She then takes out her frustration by running into the ocean and screaming at the top of her lungs, something that I find extremely embarrassing. When the sun finally starts to set, Yuina and Ohana walk back to the inn together. While doing that, they start talking about confessions and the two agree that being confessed to is something that makes their heart pound although how they deal with it is totally different.
During dinner, the sheer number of tables and dishware that are set up amazes Ohana. She even thinks that the employees are amazing until she witnesses their lack of respect for the job when they take out their cell phones during work. After dinner, the girls prepare for a bath. But before that, Ohana lets a bonboru slip from her mouth, causing Yuina to ask about then. With a new word in her vocabulary, Yuina declares that she will bonboru to be Ohana’s friend while creating a questionable yuri scene. Shortly after, while on their way to the bath, the girls have another run-in with Yousuke who, just like before, is in the middle of ordering the employees of the inn around. As the future couple go out to spend some time alone, the employees, who are obviously dissatisfied with their job, give the cold shoulder to Ohana and Minko even when they were supposed to look after the two girls. With the two of them now the only ones left, they make their way towards the bath again. However, Ohana stops and looks out the window midway through, spots something in the water and rushes out to find out what it is, leaving Minko all alone. Once outside, Ohana sees the thing emerge from the water, its red eyes glaring at her. Oh, wait… Never mind. It’s just Nako wearing red goggles while swimming. It turns out that Ohana thought that she was a kappa, which leads me to believe that Ohana is way too gullible when it comes to myths. The two then spot Yuina and Yousuke walking together and move in closer to eavesdrop. As the couple continues to talk, unbeknownst to the fact that they are being listened to, Yousuke pleads for Yuina to come to Fukuyou after she graduates so that they can be together. While Yuina didn’t outright refuse his offer, she didn’t accept it either and goes back inside the inn for a bath without giving him an answer. Later that night, Yousuke makes the biggest mistake of his short career as manager of Fukuyou Inn when he refuses to talk with one of the employees just because she hasn’t finished her cleaning yet. The next day, this mistake comes back to haunt him as the part-time employees suddenly (or not so suddenly in many of the viewers’ eyes) quit. As the former employees continue to verbally abuse Yousuke, he finally gets tired of it and starts charging at them before Ohana restrains him. Thanks to this situation, Yuina is then able to answer Yousuke’s question. She explains that a person will not be able to do something they don’t like, no matter how much they get paid. And because working at an inn is not what she would like to do, she declines his offer. New ED and OP were all right but not as good as the old ones. Not really sure what to say about the preview. It’s quite vague if you ask me. I’m guessing that the Kissui Inn girls and Yuina will temporarily replace help out Fukuyou Inn. I’ll have to wait and see if I’m right.
