Jormungand - Episode 11
It looks like I was right. This time around, Koko's got her hands full with her three new opponents. Together, the trio are diverse and each of their specialties complements the others' very well. The leader of the three seems to be a strategist whose skills are on an equal level with Koko, while his two subordinates take care of the strength and stealth of the group. Unlike Koko's previous opponents, Dominique and co. didn't recklessly rush into the line of fire and get themselves killed but instead had strategized and found the perfect time to carry out their ambush. Maybe it's because Koko has been too laid back lately given that she has faced wave upon wave of weak and easy opponents, but I think it's time that she gets down to business, showing her true skills.
To make things worse for the HCLI, two of their valuable assets in Valmet and Jonah are not present with them. Instead, Valmet has gone away in search of the answer to the troubling memories that she had been recalling recently, with Jonah, who was sent by Koko, in tow. Thanks to Schokolade, it's now confirmed that it was indeed Mr. Chen who was responsible for Valmet's injury to her right eye. Knowing this, it's not surprising why Valmet would so willingly leave the group (and Koko) in search of the man who mentally scarred her for life as she witnessed him ruthlessly killing all her comrades on that gruesome day. While I think she'll be able to succeed with the help of Jonah, the question of whether the two will make it back in time to assist Koko remains. Hopefully the answer is "yes" as I wouldn't like to see any of the HCLI members get killed; it's heart-wrenching to see members of a close group—to the point where they're almost like family—get killed right in front of each other.
Like always, the short preview is quite vague in terms of what's going to happen in the next episode. It appears that it'll be more Valmet-centered so I'm questioning whether the story will end with a cliffhanger before resuming again in season two.
VA Note: I was almost instantly able to recognize Liliane's seiyū (Asumi Kana of Nyaruko fame). Her voice really fits energetic, loli characters.
