Kill Me Baby - Episode 1
To be honest, I was quite disappointed with this episode. The artwork was mediocre (though it can be excused since this is a comedy series) and the gags were amusing, at best. I find that it's not a good sign when the first episode already fails to impress a viewer as its job is to set the bar high for the remaining episodes. I'll see how the next couple of episodes fare before deciding if I will drop this or not.
The three main characters were also bland and uninteresting. Although Yasuna and Agiri fit well in this type of series, I found Sonya to be slightly out of place. Her voice is interesting but it doesn't fit the show. In fact, I found it made the whole episode a tad duller. For now, I have to say that Agiri is my favorite character. She looks to be a smart and laidback character and I absolutely love the way she speaks.
When I first heard the OP, there was this confused look on my face. The lyrics (I'm assuming that some parts are translated incorrectly) made no sense and the song itself was really strange. The ED was similarly "different" but I prefer it over the OP, simply because the lyrics made sense. While I'm on the topic of sound, I found the phrase "Kill Me Baby" and "Baby, Please Kill Me" to be extremely disturbing when the narrators said them.
Finally, I felt the fact that Sonya is an assassin wasn't fleshed out enough. The only skills of an assassin she showed this episode were her reflex and ability to cut through glass bottles. That's pretty lame for an assassin, if you ask me. On the other hand, I understand that a school setting does limit the chances for Sonya to show her true skills. Still, I think the show would be more interesting if the "assassin" part was more emphasized.
