Shinryaku!? Ika Musume - Episode 10

Ika Musume dies.

Episode Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (4/5)

Trying to stick with the "review-first" posts that I have been starting to do recently. I feel that these are more effective and easier to read.
The ED sequence was interesting but, aside from that, no extra comments on the episode are needed as the three paragraphs below contain all my thoughts on it.

焼かなイカ!? (Won't You Grill!?)
Watching this part made me extremely hungry. It's been a while since I ate Korean barbecue; watching the Aizawa family, including Ika Musume, indulge in delicious grilled meat made me a bit envious. Anyhow, it's funny how Eiko tries and fails to even get one piece of beef thanks to the inhuman eating speed of both Ika Musume and Chizuru. I believe her rage is justified seeing as how awesome the grilled meat from KBBQ tastes. To top off her misery, she is forced to eat a whole plate of chicken (her plan of tricking the other two into eating it failed) and a piece of beef coated in squid ink (Ika Musume sneezed onto the grill). But the funniest part of this story had to have been when Chizuru revealed that she had saved the best for last (some sort of excellent quality beef, I believe) but forgot that Takeru still hadn't eaten yet (i.e. he had enough room in his stomach for all of it). The faces on the other three as Takeru slowly enjoys his grilled beef are priceless.

護らなイカ!? (Won't You Protect!?)
Those who have seen previous episodes know that Ayumi is weak and defenseless, especially when it came to dealing with males. However, this all changes in this story as she is taught to fend for herself by Chiziru, a master of self-defense, or should I say a master of pain infliction. With Gorō acting as the assaulter, Chizuru shows Ayumi the basics of self-defense. Although Gorō gets seriously injured by the end, I'm pretty sure he doesn't regret anything as he gets nursed back to health by her. On the other hand, Ayumi is now capable to defending herself; a win-win situation for both parties involved. The most amusing part of this story was when Ika Musume and Eiko questioned Chizuru's belief that she was a "normal girl." This resulted in a cold, murderous stare from Chizuru, freezing Ika Musume and Eiko in place and making them wish those words never left their mouth.

寒くなイカ!? (Isn't It Cold!?)
Realistically, this story is impossible. Seriously, having snow, even if it's artificial, on a blazing-hot summer day? Really? Aside from that major flaw, it was enjoyable since this probably the only time where the characters get to experience winter. And how unlucky was I when there was, yet again, more food. I seriously want to eat some Korean barbecue or hotpot right now. The ending with the news report about snow in Okinawa and knowing that the snow machine will be wrecking havoc across Japan is amusing, to say the least.
