TARI TARI - Episode 9

Power Ganba Rangers, unite!

I'll be honest here. I find it's really embarrassing to watch high school students pretending to be superheroes, especially if they're taking it seriously. And while this wasn't the case for the girls, and Taichi to a lesser extent, I found it extremely hard not to facepalm at Wien's enthusiasm when it came to the rehearsing for the job. Fortunately, knowing that his memories of Jan were the driving force behind his actions made it easier to accept such awkward behaviour. Moreover, I felt sorry for Wien when he revealed to everyone that all the letters he sent to Jan were never received. Because of this, I believe the others will actually take this job more seriously, despite their personal feelings of dislike towards it; in the end, it's all for their friend's sake after all.

On the administrative side of things at school, the mysterious stack of papers and an infuriated vice principal made me question just what had happened to the choir club. In one of the previous episodes (forgot which one), there was a scene where a man and a woman (presumably his secretary) showed up in the principal's office. The nature of that meeting nor the status of the man was never explicitly stated, but given this episode's turn of events, I'm willing to bet that he's some sort of school board official (more authority than the principal) and that he's out to get the choir club for some reason. Sooner or later, Konatsu and co. are bound to figure out that something's up (the vice principal's non-hesitant acceptance of their part-time job was already a huge hint) and will probably get involved in the whole matter. But until then, I guess the only thing left to do is enjoy the adventures of the choir club's rendition of the Ganba Rangers.
