Senki Zesshou Symphogear - Episode 7

Fine = Ryōko?

On the scale of realism, this show would probably float around "unrealistic" even if all the Symphogears were removed. The characters all seem fake and their development extremely forced. Last time, it was Tsubasa's sudden change of attitude towards Hibiki. This time, it was Miku's personality that did a complete 180-degree turn.

First off, I'd like to note that Miku's cold attitude towards Hibiki is justified, to some extent. It must have been devastating to find out that her friend was lying to her the whole time, especially since they had promised not to hide anything from each other. However, I don't believe this calls for a hostile attitude towards her "ex-friend". Realistically speaking, the victim in this case would probably have shown signs of grief and possibly anger, instead acting hostile and seeming emotionless. I was even more annoyed by the fact that Miku ignored all of Hibiki's attempts to discuss the whole situation since doing nothing about it would not make the problem go away. Despite all this, there may be the possibility that Miku is not doing this of her own accord as the final scene before the ED, in which she tells Hibiki they can't be friends anymore, shows her with a pained expression. This may have something to do with the conversation she had with the authorities earlier. Still, I just find it hard to believe the sudden attitude shift.

As for Ryōko, she continues to be a mystery, with Hibiki seemingly the only reason why she isn't revealing her plans just yet. In a stalker-like fashion, she has dozens of pictures of Hibiki scattered all around her office/work area. By now, it's probably obvious to the audience that she has ulterior motives behind siding with the protagonists. But the fact that the others don't find her suspicious bothers me slightly (the briefcase incident is still fresh in my mind). Just throwing this out there, but I personally believe she is/is somehow related to Fine.

Assuming that Chris doesn't die in the next episode, there's a high chance she'll side with Hibiki and co. given that Fine has now abandoned her. The desire to take revenge, as well as the realization that Hibiki's words were the truth, will probably be enough to fuel this change in mindset.

Random Note: Engrish is always a pleasure to laugh at and listen to.
