Amagami SS+ - Episode 7

Junichi's idea of a batsu gēmu

I admit that I'm not a big fan of Kaoru, but this episode certainly made her shine. To me, her relationship with Junichi is different from that of the other girls. Even after half a year of dating, they still seem like their just really close friends. The fact that Kaoru doesn't get embarrassed easily is probably what causes Junichi to be less cautious of their relationship and his actions around her. Sure, there was quite a lot of blushing in the episode, but the absence of "We stare at each other's red faces for 10 seconds" scenes was surprising.

Kaoru's personality is definitely interesting. Energetic and spontaneous, there's just no telling what she'll do next. She seems to be the type of girl that won't mind a "more-than-friends but less-than-lovers" relationship. I think that she's content with the current state of her relationship with Junichi and, if not prompted to, won't ever take it to the next level. So by deciding to go on a trip together, Kaoru has finally taken one step towards a fuller relationship. It'll probably be up to her to make a move since, with the exception of Ai's arc, Junichi is always the passive person in the relationship.

The content of the episode was more or less the expected set-up of "the problem". This time, it's getting left behind by a tour bus. And so, now that they're left alone in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their backs, what will this teenage couple do? The answer seems obvious to me; it's just a matter of finding out if I'm right or not. This convenient chance of theirs should be taken advantage of, so I hope one of them takes the initiative to make a move. Judging by the preview, there'll probably some more struggles before a possible overnight stay at an inn with an onsen. Junichi, your perverted fantasies may come true, so prepare yourself!
