Mission Complete for Aria, Kinji and Riko! |
And there you have it, Vlad is defeated and all is well once again. Though a bit slow, the fight played out quite well with a good mix of drama and action. Kind of hoping that there will be a season two since I'm going to miss Riko's crazy behavior. In the end, I was disappointed that barely anything about Kana was revealed. If there is going to be a season two, I think that she will be involved in one way or another. Overall, good episode to end a decent series.
P.S. Without Hysteria Mode, Kinji is lame.
With the rosary now in her possession, Riko begins to obsess over the need to defeat Aria and Kinji. With her hair now glowing red, she prepares to begin her assault but, suddenly, she falls victim to the shot coming from a taser gun. The shooter turns out to be none other than Sayonaki-sensei. What a big surprise... /sarcasm. Following him, are two Caucasus silver wolves, with the third one in Reki's possession now. As Sayonaki-sensei continues to rant about human's and how their genes decide how useful they are, he proceeds to take back Riko's rosary. During his ranting, he begins to torture Riko by first stuffing the fake rosary in her mouth before grinding his shoes into her face. Through all this, Kinji and Riko are left to stare in horror. Aria breaks her silence shortly after, demanding to know the reason for tormenting Riko like that. According to Sayonaki-sensei, Vlad is summoned when he hears cries of despair. And with that, Sayonaki-sensei is no more as his body starts transforming into Vlad. After the horrific transformation is complete, there is not a single trace of humanity visible on Vlad. The demonic werewolf-vampire now towers over the three humans. After Aria fires two rounds of ineffective ammunition against Vlad, the wolves begin their attack. Thanks to Hysteria Mode, Kinji is able to replicate Reki's shooting skills, allowing him to paralyze and not kill the two wolves. Despite the dangerous situation, Aria stills declares to Vlad that she will arrest him. Thinking that her statement is a joke, Vlad shifts his focus back to Riko, lifting her by her head and telling her that this is going to be the last time that she will be able to see the world, meaning that he intends to return her a prison cell like before. With red tears in her eyes, Riko uses her last bit of energy to request help from Aria and Kinji. At this, the two spring into action with Aria slashing Vlad's two arms before Kinji rescues Riko from the monster's grasp. After placing Riko in the aircraft landing area of the roof, Kinji surprises her with the rosary which he apparently got a hold of when he rescued her from Vlad. To thank him, she tells him that Vlad's final weak point is on the middle of his chest. With Kinji now back at Aria's side, he tells her the new information that he received. After five seconds of preparation, the two of them fire their pistols, hitting all four marks - or did they. For a moment, Vlad looked to be defeated but once he started laughing, Riko couldn't believe that she was wrong. Having already waited so long for them to make their move, Vlad decides to make his. He starts off with a deafening and ground-breaking howl which deactivates Kinji's Hysteria Mode, causing him to be a useless burden. With one swing of the metal pole that he is wielding, Vlad manages to send Kinji flying off the side of the building, leaving Aria to watch in horror as her partner falls towards certain death. Luckily, a random bar coming out of the side of the building stops his fall momentarily. As Aria is busy with avoiding Vlad's attacks, Riko makes it just in time to save a falling Kinji by using her unique uniform-parachute. As the two soar through the air, Riko suggests that they give up now and escape because Vlad is obviously too strong. However, Kinji is not ready to give up just yet as he is intent of saving Aria since he is her partner. After saying hearing him say her name three times, Riko decides that she might as well fight too since she isn't content with Vlad making a fool out of her.
Now that Riko is ready to fight, Kinji tells her to save Aria first. After doing that, Riko helps him get into Hysteria Mode by providing some soft yuri for him (and the viewers). With that, Kinji is now useful again! The fact that they only have four bullets left in total doesn't help either as it's either hit or miss for the three of them. After assigning a weak point to Riko and himself, Vlad comes into view and the three prepare for their final shots. With Riko's first shot hitting its mark, it is up to Kinji and Aria now. Thanks to Hysteria Mode, Kinji is able to use his shot to deflect one of Aria's bullets towards the area where he suspects the last weak points is: Vlad's tongue. After the four bullets hit their mark, Vlad screams in agony as blood gushes out of his wounds before falling motionless on the ground. Kinji then explains that he suspected that the fourth weak point was there because he remembered that Vlad had guarded his mouth when they first fired there. With the topic aside, Riko decides that she will now consider Aria and Kinji as equal rivals and that she will keep her promise about testifying at Aria's mother's trial before flying off into the night sky with her uniform-parachute.
Personally, I would say that the anime ends here but a short epilogue after hints a possible season two. With the Vlad case now closed, Aria decides to go shopping for swimsuits and has Kinji tag along. While she's in the changing room, Kinji takes a look outside and is shocked to see Kana (or someone who looks exactly like her) passing by the store's window. However, he does not get any time to think about this as Aria rushes out shortly after, informing him that her mother's lawyer has just called to tell her that Riko is meeting with him to testify right now. And to end off the episode with some comedy, Kinji notices some breast enlargement cups that Aria had just dropped and, after telling her this, he gets the slapping of a lifetime on top of being repeatedly called a baka. A decent ending to a decent series. Hoping for a season two.
