Kinji x Riko |
Riko has done it again - trolling at its finest. Though I didn't want it to end with Riko revealing that she was using them the whole time, it was the inevitable. Despite this, the kiss at the end with Kinji was quite funny because his Hysteria Mode activated so quickly. I don't know if it's just me but I feel like Riko is one of the few antagonists that are actually entertaining to watch. Hopefully Vlad appears in the next episode along with more explanation of who Kana is.
Before the day of the infiltration, Aria and Kinji are subjected to a test run by Riko, much to Aria's displeasure. When the day of the infiltration has finally come, Riko meets up with Kinji and Aria using a disguise. The person she is pretending to be, who is apparently named Kana, seemed to make Kinji uncomfortable. Kinji quickly turns an walks away from Riko, ignoring Aria's questions. When the three reach Vlad's residence, they are greeted by bats as they approach the main doors. Not surprisingly, the person whom they will be a butler and maid to turned out to be Sayonaki-sensei. With this, the chance of him being Vlad is extremely high. As the four of them gather for a chat, I felt that the conversation between Sayonaki-sensei and Riko sounded a bit weird and suspicious. Anyways, after Riko takes her leave, Sayonaki-sensei leads the other two to their rooms before returning to his research. Once Kinji finished changing into his uniform, he decides to go see how Aria is doing. When he doesn't get a response after knocking on her door, he opens it and sees her twirling in front of the mirror while wearing one of the many maid uniforms found in the closet of the room. Unfortunately for him, she notices his staring and menacingly walks towards him before jumping on him and throwing him to the ground using her legs.
After that fiasco, the two get to work. While Aria cleans the house, Kinji prepares the food and cleans the outside. During their work, the two also observe their surroundings in order to gain valuable information necessary for their infiltration. After a long day of work, the two unwind by playing a game of pool. Unfortunately for Kinji, he is unable to control his eyes as he finds himself staring at Aria's chest and legs when he is in front of her and behind her, respectively. In an attempt to control himself, Kinji suddenly gets up from the chair he is sitting at and looks away, dropping the piece of paper that Jeanne gave him in the last episode. After explaining to Aria about Vlad's weak points, thunder starts roaring outside, causing Aria to cower in fear while holding onto Kinji tightly. Later that night, before the two go to sleep, they being a three-way conference with Riko via their cell phones. Apparently a week has passed since they first started working. After Aria reports to Riko about seeing the rosary in the basement, the Riko begins to tell them about plans to retrieve it. Her explanation of the "luring out" plan is cut off shortly after because I think the viewers get the idea after she says that one person will lure out Sayonaki-sensei while the other sneaks in to steal the rosary.
During the another dinner a few days before the infiltration, Kinji notices that Sayonaki-sensei only eats rarely-cooked meat everyday and questions his health. As Kinji continues to look on, Sayonaki-sensei and Aria have a small chat about languages with the roses in the garden eventually becoming the topic of interest. It turns out that Aria knows 17 different languages which is also the same number of breeds that Sayonaki-sensei cross-bred to make the sparkling roses. Because of this coincidence, he decides to name them "Aria" causing Aria to blush with embarrassment and joy. Though she doesn't notice it, I think Kinji knew that Sayonaki-sensei was just trying to flatter Aria to gain her trust. Later that night, Aria reports to Riko about the heavily-guarded basement that has infrared beams set up. Despite this, Riko tells them she already has a plan for this. After Aria confirms that she will try and lure Sayonaki-sensei away from his research for 15 minutes, Riko hangs up after telling them the operation will begin on the afternoon of the last day. With the two of them now left on the phone, Aria questions Kinji about Kana after not getting an answer about why he was unhappy when Sayonaki-sensei named the roses Aria. Unfortunately, she doesn't get an answer for that either and I think that the viewers will never get one as well.
With the day of the operation finally here, Kinji prepares to start the retrieval of Riko's rosary. After Kinji makes his way down to the basement via a hole in the room above, he starts building a contraption, with Riko's guidance, that manages to not touch any of the infrared beams while being able to retrieve the rosary. As he slowly reels in the rosary, Sayonaki-sensei decides that it is time for him to return to his research. With time running out, Aria attempts at keeping a conversation going fail miserably. Due to this, Riko takes matters into her own hands by cutting Kinji's connection with Aria and mimicking Aria's voice, using it to seduce Kinji in order to activate his Hysteria Mode. Thanks to this, Kinji quickly reels in the rosary and places a fake one in its place before ascending back to the room above before Sayonaki-sensei makes his way back into the basement. That night, with the mission now complete, the three involved in this infiltration meet up at the rooftop of a tall building. After giving Riko her rosary, Kinji is rewarded with a kiss and a quick activation of Hysteria Mode. Then, the inevitable revelation of Riko's trolling finally arrives. With everything now set in her favor, Riko uses this opportunity to once again try and prove that she has surpassed her great-grandfather. With the next episode preview showing Vlad, I'm guessing that the fight between Lupin and Holmes won't happen. Hoping for the last episode to deliver some nice action. Really looking forward to it.
