Gotta love those peach buns! |
Typical "Rie loli forces her way into the male protagonist's house and shows her tsun side to him while making it obvious to the viewers that she will be dere to him in the future." Yes, the story is very predictable but I'm keen to see more of Kinji and his Hysteria Mode so that's why I'm deciding not to drop this show yet. Even though many people will disagree, I find yandere characters like Shirayuki even more repulsive than tsunderes like Aria. *puts flame shield up*
Even the first line of the episode (or the last line of the last episode) will make viewers roll their eyes because of how overused it is when it comes to an anime with a Rie-tsundere-loli character. With that being said, Aria then starts treating Kinji like a slave by asking him to get her coffee and peach buns. After fulfilling her order (when he really could've just kicked her out), he explains that the top three things that a Butei needs to be careful of is darkness, poison and women. What follows is Kinji's thoughts on Aria choice in food and drink while she happily eats the peach buns. I have to admit she looked very moe and non-tsundere while eating those peach buns. Maybe Kinji should just tame her with them. However that wouldn't make the story any interesting for people who watch this show for tsundere lolis. Anyways, after it seems like Aria has settled down, Kinji begins to question her about the "slave" thing. Unfortunately, she doesn't give him a response but instead requests him to transfer back to Assault and join her party. The problem is that he had just transfered out of Assault recently and going back would be really awkward. Aria then goes on to say some more random stuff and reveals to the audience that she is obviously in love with Kinji. This early in the show, it's expected that the male protagonist would not realize this so I'll let it pass. I just hope he's not as dense as Hayate (Hayate no Gotoku). After seeing the uncertainty in his eyes, Aria gives him an ultimatum: Transfer to Assault or she stays at his place. She then kicks him out for a while so she can take a bath (which he doesn't know she is doing). This situation is also overused in these types of anime so it's quite obvious what's going to happen next. After returning from his walk outside after getting kicked out, he finds out that she is taking a bath and freaks out. To make matters worse, Shirayuki the Yandere shows up at the door and gives him dinner that she made for him. Because she saw how nervous Kinji looked, she suddenly put had a yandere look on his face and asked him if he was hiding something from her. Kinji decides to lie to her and he luckily gets away with it. After Shirayuki leaves, he quickly goes back to the bathroom in an attempt to hide Aria's weapons so she can't attack him with them if she finds out that he came back while she was taking a bath. Now looking at other anime, this plan would most likely fail. And it did. Right after he finds her weapons in the basket of her clothes, she steps out of the bath and sees him there. Since he already has hold of the weapons, he decides to grab them and run for his life. Unfortunately, the two swords which he held had Aria's bra and panties on the handles. How unlucky can he be... The result is the typical loud scream and severe beating.
The next morning, Kinji is greeted with a punch to the stomach and Aria screaming about her hunger. Surprisingly, his evasion skills have increased and he is able to dodge most of her attacks. After a short struggle, he tells her to leave first because this is a boy's dorm and it would be awkward if she left with him. However, she refuses and acts like a spoiled child, clinging on to him with all her strength. In class, the teacher explains some boring "first day of school" things and Kinji decides to respond to a commission of a civilian thinking he could get away from Aria who would be in her Assault class. Unfortunately for him, she skipped her class because she already has enough credits to graduate. Unable to do anything about her, he lets her follow her. While trying to find a lost cat (objective of the commission), he is constantly annoyed by her. This guy's tolerance towards her is unimaginable. Any other human being would have snapped by now. Part way through the search, Aria starts feeling hungry and forces Kinji to buy her something from a fast-food restaurant parodying McDonalds (this has become quite common lately). The two then walk to a park, find a bench and sit down. As Aria starts eating, Kinji tells her that they shouldn't sit too close together. Absorbed in her food, she doesn't realize her surroundings until he tells her to look around. When she sees the large amount of couples around, she turns red and hurriedly finishes her food. With the opportunity of getting rid of Aria arising, Kinji warns her that if she doesn't go back to class, the person she likes might get the wrong idea if he sees them together. Unlike most male protagonists, I'm not sure if Kinji knows that Aria likes him or not because he said all those things about love to her with a smirk on his face. Maybe Kinji is the first "not as dense" male protaganist? His entertainment may have come at a cost as Aria resorts to punching him in the face to get out of the embarrassing situation. When the two finally find the cat, Kinji successfully saves it but is mauled shortly after by it. Poor guy has to endure multiple scratches and a punch to the face in the span of several hours.
When the sunset arrives and Kinji gets rid of Aria, he meets up with the energetic and airheaded Riko. The two had arranged to meet to make a trade. On Kinji's end, he gives her games that contain content with a gothic loli theme. In return, she gives him all of Aria's personal information. After the trade, Riko tells Kinji that she thinks he and Aria look like a couple. She even asks them if they had sex yet. It's like she doesn't know what questions are appropriate to ask when talking to someone who you have just met not too long ago. Back at the dorm, Kinji reveals everything he had learned about Aria to her. I was surprised that she didn't call him stalker and punch him. In the end, she questions his true ability as a Butei, recalling the fact that he was an S-Rank at the entrance exam. After she pressures him to answer her (in a very questionable position), he decides that the only way to stop her from asking is to team up with her for one Assault mission. He states that he will only team up with her once, no matter how big or small the mission is. She agrees with his conditions and tells him she'll test the limit of his power in that one mission. She even threatens to "blow holes in him" if he slacks off to which he confidently tells her that he will try his best. The "mission" seems to get off to a slow start next episode. I think Aria will use the mission to take advantage of Kinji's promise of "I will try my best". Looking forward to it.
