TARI TARI - Episode 13

\(^o^)/\(^o^)/\(^o^)/

This was hands down the best episode of the series; fitting for a finale. Although not completely, the multiple insert songs in this episode made up for the lack thereof in the majority of the other episodes. It was very heartwarming to see what the power of community and friendships are capable of, even if they usually doesn't reach this extent of success in real life. All the trials and struggles the characters faced ended up not being for naught, which definitely brings a great feeling of satisfaction both to them and the viewer. Oh, and Kokoro no Senritsu is such a beautiful song; one of the best ones this season!

Now, onto the short epilogue that followed the climatic cultural festival performance. First off, I generally disapprove of devoting half of an episode for an epilogue simply because I prefer watching prologues and epilogues as part of OVAs that are released at a later date. However, in this case, I very much approve of TARI TARI's informative epilogue. All loose ends regarding each of the main characters' previous struggles were tied up nicely—Konatsu found direction in her life as she got into a university, Sawa further pursued a career as an equestrian, Wakana continues to walk the path her mother has laid out for her with some help from the vice principal, Wien finally got to see Jan again, Taichi reaches his goal of being accepted into a university because of his badminton skills. With that said, this means the ending is mostly close-ended. And while this greatly decreases the chance of a second season for those who want one, a couple of OVAs or specials here and there are still possible—and I'd definitely like that. Overall, TARI TARI was an enjoyable series for the most part. Personally, I felt it was much better than its "predecessor" (i.e. Hanasaku Iroha).
