THE iDOLM@STER - Episode 18

Azusa > Ritsuko

Episode Rating: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (3/5)

Not a big fan of Ritsuko so this episode felt boring throughout, despite there being a concert. But I guess an episode like this was bound to come soon since there had been no Ritsuko-centered episode before this and Ryuuguu Komachi had been absent for quite a while. From a less biased point of view, the episode was decent - developing Ritsuko's character slightly. As for the concert, I believe it was a form of compensation for those who didn't get to see RK perform in Episode 13 (a typhoon caused RK to miss the majority of the concert). Being a Miki fanboy, the small portion in which she didn't immediately accept Ritsuko's offer to be a stand-in for the sick Azusa really showed that she had matured. Though I would've liked her to be on-stage instead of Ritsuko, I felt like she made the right decision. Next week, I sense the drama returning once again (Kuroi in the preview) and maybe a Takane-centered episode?

One quick note on the songs this episode: I found it funny how the song they practiced wasn't performed (or at least they weren't shown performing it) during the concert. Anyways, three new songs in this episode are below.
